Important Information for 1812 Overture.
Join us for Masterworks IV: 1812 at the Abilene Convention Center, featuring the 2018 Nelda Hodges Young Artist Competition Bronze Medalist, Faith Fang on solo violin. There are several items that we’d like you to know in advance of Saturday’s performance:
PARKING
The main parking lot at the convention center is located on the North side of the building and is free to park. Handicapped parking is limited so we recommend getting there early. The North Plaza at the Abilene Convention Center will be under construction. Please use the conference center ramp to enter the Convention Center. Also, the lower Northeast concourse will be an alternative entrance.
ENTERING
There are four entrances to the theater, two on the north side and two on the south side of the Convention Center. Each will have a Belle or Beau scanning tickets as you enter.
WILL CALL
If you have pre-purchased tickets, you may pick up your tickets at the Box Office located in the foyer of the Convention Center. The Box Office will open at 5:30 PM for the 7:30 PM performance.
E-TICKETS
When purchasing tickets online and selecting the Print-at-Home delivery method you will receive two emails. The first one is your order confirmation. THIS IS NOT YOUR TICKET. You will receive a second email from info@abilenephilharmonic.org with a subject line of ‘Your tickets are ready’. This email will include your tickets attached as a PDF. You can either print this PDF or show the PDF on your phone to enter the concert. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam folder. You can also login to your account on our website and download your tickets under the “Etickets” tab. Please contact our Box Office with any questions or if you need assistance with your e-tickets.
WALKUPS
Walk-up tickets will be available for purchase in the foyer.
GIFT SHOP
We will be selling Philharmonic branded items in addition to other beautiful music-inspired products. Be sure to take a moment to stop by the table in the lobby to check them out!
CONCERT TIME
The performance will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes with a 15 minute intermission. Please try to arrive at least thirty minutes before concert time. This leaves time for parking, picking up tickets, getting your ticket scanned, visiting the restroom and finding your seat. If you arrive late you will be seated as soon as there is an appropriate pause in the performance.
ATTIRE
There are as many ways of dressing as there are people who come to concerts. Most aim for business casual or dressier, but ultimately the symphony is for everyone, wear what makes you comfortable.
STUDENT TICKETS
Student’s ages 6 through 18 can enjoy any Philharmonic concerts for only $5.00. However, no children under the age of 6 will be allowed in the concert hall.
CHILD CARE
We are partnering with Day Nursery of Abilene to provide childcare from 5:30pm-10pm the day of our concerts. The cost is $36 per child and it includes the evening meal. Make it a date night at the Abilene Philharmonic! The deadline to sign up is Thursday, May 5th at 8am.
