The Abilene Philharmonic is a part-time per service orchestra, that is proud to employ some of the best musicians in the state of Texas. If you are interested in an audition, please review our openings and procedures. MORE INFORMATION COMING SOON.

Position begins in 2028-2029 Season. Finalisits will be contracted for 1 concert cycle in the 2027-2028 season.

CONCERT SEASON CONSISTS OF
- 4 Masterworks Concerts
- 3 Pops Concerts
- 1 Set of Student Concerts
REHEARSALS
- Masterworks (Friday – Saturday Rehearsals) – Saturday Performance
- Pops (Friday – Saturday Rehearsals) Saturday Performance (occasionally a matinee and evening program)
- Student Concerts – Wednesday – Friday (Paired with a masterworks concert)
- Travel Pay and Lodging Provided

$25 Check Deposit (no money orders or Venmo) – All deposits are refundable unless the candidate fails to cancel a week prior to the audition date. Please send check to the address listed below:

AUDITION PROCESS
Abilene Philharmonic auditions consist of two rounds. The first round is screened, and the committee will be unable to view the candidate. Candidates are asked to refrain from speaking during the first round. Candidates who advance to the second round will be visible by the committee, and the committee will be able to review the candidates’ resume.
